Please read these terms carefully. They cover your use of www.ukaircon.co.uk and the basis on which we quote for and carry out air conditioning work. Your written quote, and any job-specific terms in it, also form part of our agreement with you. If anything in your quote differs from these terms, the quote takes priority.
About us
UK Aircon is an air conditioning contractor registered in England and Wales under company number 13701835, based at 407 Westgate Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 6PB. You can contact us at [email protected]. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean UK Aircon, and "you" means the person or business using our website or services.
Using this website
You may use this website to find out about our services and to contact us. You must not misuse it, for example by trying to gain unauthorised access, introducing viruses or sending spam through our forms.
We work to keep the information on the site accurate and up to date, but it is general guidance only. Our articles on sizing, running costs and system types are a starting point, not a substitute for a survey of your property. Prices, figures and examples on the website are for illustration and are not an offer to supply at that price.
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their content.
The text, photos, logo and design of this website belong to UK Aircon or are used with permission. You may view and print pages for your own use, but you must not copy or reuse them for commercial purposes without our written agreement.
Quotes
- Our quotes are free and there is no obligation to accept them.
- Most installation quotes follow a survey, so we can check room sizes, unit positions, access and the electrical supply.
- Each quote sets out the equipment, the work included, the price and how long the quote remains valid.
- Prices quoted "from" on our website, such as installations from £1,800, are starting prices. Your actual price is the one in your written quote.
If we discover something during the work that could not reasonably have been seen at the survey, such as hidden structural problems or an unsafe electrical supply, we will explain it and agree any change in price with you before going ahead.
Booking and carrying out the work
A contract is formed when you accept our quote in writing and we confirm the booking. We will agree an installation or service date with you and do our best to keep to it. If we need to rearrange because of weather, illness, supplier delays or other things outside our control, we will let you know as early as we can.
To let us do the job safely and on time, we ask that you:
- give our engineers safe access to the areas where we are working, including outside walls and roof spaces where needed
- clear the work areas of furniture and valuables, or let us know if you need help
- tell us about anything that may affect the work, such as asbestos, hidden pipes or cables, or restrictions from a landlord or freeholder
- get any permission you need from a landlord, freeholder, management company or the local planning authority. We are happy to advise on what may be required.
All refrigerant work is carried out by F-Gas qualified engineers. We will leave the site clean and tidy and show you how to use your system before we leave.
Payment
The payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are set out in your quote and invoice. Ownership of the equipment passes to you once it has been paid for in full. If an invoice is not paid on time, we may charge interest and recovery costs as allowed by law and pause any further work until the account is settled.
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our premises or at a distance (for example after a home visit, by phone or by email), you normally have 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, contact us in writing within that period.
If you ask us to start work within the 14 days and then cancel, you will need to pay for the work done and any equipment ordered specifically for you up to the point you cancel. Once the work is fully completed, the right to cancel no longer applies.
Warranty and guarantees
New installations come with our 5 years warranty, covering parts and labour, as described in your quote and handover documents. To keep the warranty valid, the system needs to be serviced as recommended and must not be altered, moved or repaired by anyone else. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, power surges, blocked filters through lack of cleaning, or normal wear of consumable parts.
Our warranty is in addition to your legal rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, our services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, and goods we supply must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
For business customers, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or indirect losses, and our total liability for any job is limited to the price paid for that job.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our work, please contact us at [email protected] or write to our Westgate Road address. We will look into it and aim to put things right quickly.
Your personal information
We use the information you give us as described in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you accept your quote is the one that applies to your job.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
